What to Know for House Directors

DO I HAVE TO ATTEND THE ENTIRE TIME?  

Yes, attendance at this House Director Training is mandatory. Communicate with Pearl Stone Partners as soon as possible via email if you have a scheduling conflict. 

IS THERE A VIRTUAL ALTERNATIVE? 

We are thrilled to be back in person this year for House Director Training and Alpha Chi Omega’s Volunteer Summit! A virtual alternative will not be available.

WHAT SHOULD MY PARTICIPATION LOOK LIKE DURING THE TRAINING? 

Pearl Stone Partners expects full participation from all house directors. This includes but is not limited to attending the training in its entirety, being physically present for all house director educational sessions, participating in group discussions and small group breakouts, and not multi-tasking during sessions.

WILL I BE COMPENSATED FOR MY TIME AT HOUSE DIRECTOR TRAINING? 

Yes, training time is compensable. You will be expected to accurately track your time spent at this event. We will share more specific information with you about tracking your time as the event gets closer!

WILL I HAVE MY OWN HOTEL ROOM?

Yes, each house director will have their own room.

WHAT DOES HOUSE DIRECTOR TRAINING COST AND WHO COVERS THAT COST?

Pearl Stone Partners is covering the cost of training for the entire house director team. This includes registration costs, provided meals, airfare and the cost of one checked bag (or mileage and parking), transportation to/from the airport and the hotel room. PSP will not reimburse for personal expenses or for meals outside of those provided. 

HOW WILL I BE REIMBURSED FOR EXPENSES?

You will use the designated employee reimbursement form to request reimbursement. You will be required to provide receipts. 

WHAT SHOULD I PLAN TO WEAR?

Friday attire is snappy casual (like you are heading to a casual business meeting; jeans are appropriate). Saturday is badge attire/business casual (like you are dressing for a business meeting or professional conference). Sunday is letters/university day, when we encourage you to wear your favorite Alpha Chi Omega or college/university attire! We will move between rooms throughout the weekend, so keep that in mind as you are choosing shoes.

Don’t forget to wear layers, too, as the hotel conference rooms may run cool! 

WILL THERE BE VENDORS AT THE EVENT TO PURCHASE MERCHANDISE FROM?

Yes, officially licensed Alpha Chi Omega vendors will be at Volunteer Summit! You’ll have the opportunity to shop our vendors on Friday night and Saturday through lunch. 

WHAT SHOULD I DO IF I START SHOWING COVID-19 SYMPTOMS OR TEST POSITIVE THE WEEK OF HOUSE DIRECTOR TRAINING?

Attendees exhibiting symptoms of or who have tested positive for COVID-19 should not travel to Indianapolis for this event. Please do not risk your own health and the health of others by doing so. Contact the Pearl Stone Partners team to notify staff of your need to cancel your registration.
